We don't like to do Sat delivery because if there's a delay in FedEx the packages sit till Monday(not good for livestock)...

Hope this helps,

I could see that, also, one other thing we failed to mention, is that we use a courier to take our boxes to the airport late at night(pack late as possible, and hit the FedEx 5 minutes till 9pm)... It's a $35.00 fee we normally absobe the cost across several boxes going out(part of the 8.00 packing/supply fee we charge) If we are only shipping one box that evening we would also ask you to helup us out on the courier fees... I know, it's not cheap... These are 2 good reasons we don't like doing Sat deliverys...

Hope this helps,

All corals are shipped via Fed-Ex Priority Overnight . Packaged in plastic bags and shipped in Styrofoam containers. We package your corals to ensure that your corals arrive alive!!! Shipping is a flat fee of $45.00 no matter where you are located in the U.S and no matter how many corals you buy!

Saturday delivery is available, However, there is a $30.00 surcharge to cover the extra expense in shipping/courier fees AND the shipment is not guaranteed to arrive on Saturday and may result in a loss of corals. We typically use a 14"x12"x10" lined Styrofoam box with ice/heat packs when needed. These boxes typically hold 8-10 small Frags and up to 4 medium/large corals. There is a $8.00 box fee/shipping supplies fee (Heat/Ice packs, bags, Styrofoam, etc..) for every shipment.

in other words, you charge extra for Saturdays because of the hassle, that's to bad, other online premium vendors do not charge $30.00 for Saturday and i feel like you just don't need or want the extra customers who would love to do business with you.

I think I stated it pretty clear in the above post and on the website. It has nothing to do with hassle as we ship all of our packages with a courier to FedEx AND we don't like taking risks with our livestock on Saturdays(even if we waive our DOA policy). Other online premium vendors can justify Saturday delivery because they are much larger than us. If it turns out we do more business on Friday's we will indeed look into shipping for Saturday deliverys...

Thanks for the advice...

Not only are you paying more for your corals on these "Premium" sites but if you check the Shipping Info closer, I think you will find that they do indeed charge you extra for the Saturday Delivery. I don't know of one that doesn't. Besides, these "Premium" sites don't have near the selection and the prices that Reef Science has, or at least I haven't found one.
