Hi,

I came home from spring break and I saw part of my maxima's mantle shriveled up. Is this pinching? If so, should I FWD it? and how long should I FWD it? Thanks.

it's been in my tank for a little over 2 weeks.

first i would make sure ur water is all in line. then make sure that there isnt anything bothering this clam, like a fish(angels),shrimp, pyrams or anthing else. that pic is kind of typical of PM but the rest of the mantle looks fine. most of the time u will see some curling on the ends of the mantle before the clam pulls it mantle in at the incurent opening.
for a FWD u need to use RO/DI,=temp and PH to tank and place clam in there for 20 to 30 min.check everything else first before u dip

I have a clown fish and cleaner shrimp but they leave the clam alone. I checked for pyramidellid snails every night so I don't think thats a problem. It looks like the 'pinching' is spreading. I have a bag of ro/di water floating right now. how do i raise the ph of the ro/di water?

Do you have other clams as well, one way to tell is if it spreads to the other clams.
