Hey I have a becket skimmer right now I have a mak4 running it but will need a second pump for my new setup. I will probably pull the mak4 to pump up to my display which is about 10-12' above my basement sumps. I was wondering how the BL100 compared to the mak4. Would I notice a huge difference running it on the beckett instead of the mak. I would love to save the 40 watts whereever I can.

thanks

tom

Hi Tom,

I don't think you'll see a huge difference, the BL1100 is pretty powerful. You would be loosing around 100gph though. Not sure how much impact that would make on your skimmer.

I am going to convert my beckett to run on a recirc loop so I am not sure how the less flow will affect it. Right now I split my mak as my skimmer pump and return and the skimmer still funtions well so I am not too concerned about giving the skimmer a little less power. Just if the bl1100 has enough umph when put under that much head due to the beckett.

Thanks for the help!

Tom
