I'd really like to have at least one nice clam in my 65g tank, is it possible if I just dose b-ionic. Can you dose b-ionic on a need be basis, or does it have to be done every day? What is the minium ca level you can keep clams at??

Thanks:)
Angela.

I think you could keep a clam with B-Ionic. You just have to keep an eye on alk & Ca levels. You would dose B-Ionic on a daily basis in order to maintain levels. I wouldn't shoot for "minimum levels" but normal reeftank levels (Ca 400-500 PPM and alk 10-12dKH).

IME I think you will be fine. That is what I was using in my 90 gal for a year then went to a 180 and got a ca reactor as it is to big to dose that way.

Thanks to everyone. I'm so glad to hear that:) Do you all order online, because my lfs charges like 120$ per clam, that is way expensive!! If you order online, pls post from where and your experience bad or good. Thanks to all:D

My most recent clam purchase was through Harbor Aquatics (www.harboraquatics.com). The price was right, service great, and specimens perfect. All in all a most pleasurable experience. Ask for JT and tell him I sent you!

Hello Newreeflady!
I use a two part additive instead of a reactor. I use Seachem Reef Builder and Reef Advantage Calcium. Welcome to the wonderful world of clams.
