i've heard that there were some "glitches" & DA has fixed them. if you buy a reefkeeper & then a newer version comes out, can you download the newest version?

i also read about the brownouts tripping the MH lights. is this a problem w/ the MH lights only? any other quirks that i should know about before buying 1 of these? thanks

So far the brownouts just trip the halide safety feature so that they go out for 15 minutes. It hasn't effected anything else, because none of the other circuits have that kind of feature. It has been an excellent dual stage temp controller for me at least, and the VHO lights are rock solid. Only the halide thing is bugging me and I am almost positive it is my power lines coming in. I am looking for a cheap solution for line conditioning currently.

i've got some old power lines too. a/c kicks on, light flicker for a second or 2. can i turn off the halide feature since i don't have them?

Yeah, you can make each outlet anything you want. I have been thinking of setting the metal halide outlets as regular outlets so they don't have the metal halide cutout feature to see if that helps. My lines are so old, the lights flicker when the neighbors A/C kicks in

Hey guys,

Is the Reef Keeper a backlit unit?

Yes it is backlit. See this thread for some pictures from Entropy: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=531045
