I just changed my ro membrane. I increase from a 25 to 60 gpd.
I can hear a noise (hiss) at the flow restrictor. It doesn't seem to be air... but that is what it sounds like. The fitting is tight.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA Rob

You can't be sucking air in anywhere.
Water would leak out first.
What is your membrane pressure?
If high, that could contribute.
You now have 3 times as much water
being 'squirted' through the flow restrictor.
That's probably enough more that now it is
audible.
I should have asked this question first:
Did you get a FR-60 flow restrictor to match
the 60 GPD membrane?

I did replace the flow restrictor. I think you are right. The increased flow is audible (when I put my ear on the housing). Thank you for your reply.
One question... while I have you here. I am adding another stage to my system. I have a 2 stage plus RO, and am adding another prefilter. Should I add a larger micron filter first?
I guess ideally what would be the best set-up for 3 filters pre-RO?
Thank you again
