Who better than the experts!!!
I am moving tomorrow and I was wondering how long can my live rock be exposed to air before I run into problems.
Is this possible or does it need to be under water during the whole move?
I appreciate the help.

Keep it under water, especially if there are any sponges.

The problem is the amount of rock. 200 + LBS. Do you think I can put it in trash cans and when I get to the new house (30 minutes away) cover it with water?

If you can move it that quickly, I would think covering it with some wet towels, rags or newspaper will probably be sufficent. I have never moved a tank, however and can only relate what I've read in othr threads. Hopefully others will chime in.

Well,
The move was a success and my LFS took my fish in in order for al levels to be OK before putting them back into the tank.
thanks for all the help.
