Hi,

I bought a 6100 with single controller from my lfs this weekend. I have a 4' 55g tank.

I am finding that unless I throttle the 6100 right down that a sandstorm is created and the fish look like they are caught in a hurricane!

Is a 6100 too big for my tank?

The guy at the lfs said that a 6000 would struggle to cover the length of the tank. Is that true?

I have the stream positioned at the side of the tank pointing down the length of it.

Please can you give some advice? I just seems a bit pointless having a 6100 that is running at about 40%!

Thanks

Marty

I would not advise a stream for such a narrow tank, a 7300/2 or 7400/2 would be better suited. Yes, a 6000 just covers 4ft but a 55 is so narrow that the Stream flow gets channeled and makes a mess of the sand. This sand could damage the pump so be sure to keep it clean inside if you decide to stick with it.
