They are a fairly tough stomatopod that gets to about 7 cm and lives up to 5 or 6 years.

He has two but likes to cruise around!! He will have a new home very soon!Too bad, I was starting to get attatched.

Yeah, unfortunately!! I have a 10g glass and a 1.5g nano and a 90g reef so I don't have a permanent place for one but I get them from fellow reefers as a rescue and find homes for them. I'm kind of like the Mantis Humane Society!! I trade them for frags or money! :D

Although if I get one that is as gorgeous as that purple/blue mantis I will keep it for sure!!

Gorgeous.... i would love to have a nice specimen such as that...... shipping would probably be a pita though.

I have one that just looks like that. Also does it have a hiding place because if it does not have one it will get very stresed and it might die.

The white (and red?) spots on the appendages look similar to my G. viridis, but I wouldn't call that an ID.
