Ok, I have sent my controller back to you two times and at least now it doesnt lose memory, but unplugging it for few seconds and it doesnt hold the time. My poor fish dont know what time of day it is anymore with the elcectric going out from storms and the time reseting to 12am.
I will do some more checking of it, but I am 99% sure this is what is happening, any fix?
If it is just the battery can i fix it myself?

One more thing is I just removed one 110 watt VHO and replaced that plug with a dual 175 watt MhPFO magnetic ballast .

Your battery is dead. I have the same issue right now and am toying with sending it back for replacement.

I have just received this one back less then 6 months ago from upgrading,2 upgrades, one for memory one for the cooling thing. The battery should last longer??
Maybe they still have a problem with the unit discharging the battery, isnt that one of the reasons they replaced them before the memory replacement?
If it truly is just the battery dead and not the unit killing the battery prematurley I would rather change it myself rather then send it back, can we change the battery ourself?

Like Entropy, I have same issue with 1.5 version. When I sent email inquiring and asking if I could replace the battery myself vs. sending it back in........All I got back in response was to send it in once they are no longer backordered......You would think something like this shouldn't require a replacement unit . It's beginning to seem more and more apparent that should have spent a little more $$ on making more supportable vs. trying so hard to keep the costs down. I realize there's a fine line there to make it more supportable yet cost effective......but company can go broke replacing units for every battery or firmware update needed.....

Unfortunately I too was told that the battery is not replaceable by the end user and to just send it back for a replacement. I am still pretty happy with my ReefKeeper, but there are definately a few bugs that haven't been worked out.

Guys,

The battery should last for many years; obviously this is not happening. All the testing we did showed that the battery was fine after we made changes the first time. But we recently started to get reports that the battery was not working for some people so we did a little more investigation a couple days ago... The good news is that we fixed the settings problem a long time ago. The bad news is that we just found the problem in hardware with the battery circuit that causes the battery be drained even if the unit is plugged in.

Now this is embarrassing to for us to admit and doesn’t reflect well on the company, except… we will continue to provide top notch customer support and get you what you deserve. We are very confident that we really fixed the problem for good this time and all orders that are shipping have this correction.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, but hope that it is limited to inconvenience and that we can patch that up with good support. We really believe in the ReefKeeper and will do whatever it takes to make it a top notch product.

We have a creative way to get people taken care of by allowing you to have zero down time on your tank. Email support@digitalaquatics.com and we will gladly send you the instructions to get yours taken care of.

Thanks for the note Nick. I have always had a good experience with your companies customer service, and I am still recommending the RK to pretty much everyone that will listen. I think I am going to take you up on the exchange program so my system is not down in the mean time.

LOL! I just did last night as well. :D My house lost power for a couple minutes yesterday and the unit reset, so the lights were out most of the day :( Decided it was time to stop being lazy.

Exact same thing here. Lost power for a second yesterday, i didnt relize it till this morning when I thought my clams looked funny for the morning, till I figured out that the tank lights did not just come on , but where ready to turn out, as the unit read something like 6 pm, instead of 8 am.
