We have a 24" deep 120 with 420 watts VHO. I have no intention of trying to keep a more demanding clam unless and until we upgrade our lighting. However, I would like to have a squamosa. In the pictures I have seen, most of you have them on your sandbed. Most of you also have MH lighting, so I am wondering if the squamosa would do better in our tank...

a) further from the lighting but on the sandbed, or

b) in the rockwork closer to the top of the tank and lighting.

What do you think?

sandbed- squamosas move a bit before settling in- but it depends on size; if you can manage to build a place for it to settle and comfortably expand in the rockwork such that falling isn't an option, swell, but that would be tricky, ime- good luck-
