Hi guys,
I just checked my calendar and CRAP! It's been a year since I replaced any pre/post filters. :eek2:
Every thing seems to function fine, I test the output water almost every time the system is run with your Push to Test, all is green (Set to 7) low tolerance. Pre filter dose not look clogged, and the DI sets are just slightly starting to shift color at the bottom of the filter.
By the way, what is the color shift to be OK to bad?
I use the SP-2000 5-Stage Unit 90gpd. Line PSI is 45 to 50 (same as when installed)
Ya think I should change the filters out or am I good till the light goes red? If any thing should I change the Pre and Carbon filters any how. (City water)
Love SpectraPure, love the service!

You should probably change the sediment and carbon pre-filters , especially with chlorinated city water, even if the sediment hasn't yet plugged up.
The first of the two DI carts (DI-SF-CI-10) will turn brown from the bottom up as it is exhausted. The second cart (DI-AR-CI-10) needs the monitor to indicate its exhaustion. Sounds like you have decent water to start with, and really good membranes to reduce the contaminates to a point that the DIs are coasting along. How many total gallons do you think have passed through the DI carts?

If it took me almost a year to remember to check my pre filters you want to know how many gallons I used? Haa :D j/k guys... I run about 30 gallons a week.
Again, the Push to Test says every thing is green to go. But I will order new ones, just thought I'd ask.

I live in Florida and have really bad water. I have to change my sediment and carbon every 7 or 8 months. My Push to Test shows green all the time as well. I have just replaced the resin in both DIs. What is the best way to tell if I need to replace my membrane? I want to make sure I am getting that 97% rejection for my RO.

I was always told replace the membrain every 2 to 3 years, but I don't know what the SpectraPure guys say. Maybe they will reply.

When I set to #8 the Check system red light comes on. What does this mean? This is the 0.33 ppm setting

Just shows your filters are aging. Thats all. Most people are happy with 2.0 uS to 0.5 uS (Microsiemens) (Switchs 6, 7, and 8).
Give the guys a call Monday...

jaybuc,
Please call us and speak to Mr. Gibbs or myself.
Rich is correct and helpful, but we would like to talk
to you ourselves.
Position#8 is considered to be unrealistically too high and slightly less accurate than #7.
