Does the Reefkeeper double as a surge protector?

I just purchased my reefkeeper last night and I am wondering if the reefkeepers 8 outlets are also surge protected? or shoudl I buy a good surge protector to plug the reefkeeper in?

Your ReefKeeper does have a fuse that "slow blows" at 15A. You should have received a second, backup, fuse with your purchase.

We don't recommend plugging the ReefKeeper into a power strip. As we have designed it as a stand alone unit.
