Well, it's back. But due to a friendly hacker we all must re register and get re activated.
All previous content was not lost, just unable to restore it due to the new version phpBB has some conflict with older version.
So all LIRA members re-register.

Hi Eric,

Just sent a mail to the webmaster to re-confirm my membership--I still don't have a membership card. Btw, if you ever need a backup or some help scripting, I've been doing web stuff since the advent of Mosaic.

You have to reregister to the LIRA Forum. When you click on the link to the private forum, look for the "register" link at the top of the page ;)

Hey folks, I don't mean to intrude, but having a "members only" forum is something we're toying with over on the BRS boards.
What kind of content goes on in the members only board?
I guess the question is: what are the perks we can provide (on the forums) so that folks will jump off the fence and become paid members?

There's club news, and general forums too that actually have to do with reef problems and whatnot.

It makes it easier to talk about club events and stuff sometimes, but actually the majority of our posting is done here...

The main thing the club gets out of having a private board of it's own is commercial posting. I can't let 'em do it here, but several members of the club are commercial and sell there.
There are also times that official business is discussed there to keep non members unaware of things such as which stores offer how much discount.

Barring that, did you register on the forum? You may need to re-register as the forum crashed a few months ago and was rebuilt.

frequently i find i have to sign on two times in a row to get it to log me in... or even if i give it user name and PW i have to play some games with refreshes and back buttons etc to get the list of threads to appear... sometimes i just get the lira private forum header but no actual listings...
specifically i dont know whats wrong - but usually if i "readjust" cookie/privacy/java settings things work eventually...

It actually doesn't exist, we only use the term "private forum" to dupe people into joining the club.
