No, that is not photosynthetic. I had one and it lasted about a month. It is also called a blue sea fan. Live aquaria sometimes has them. VERY difficult to keep alive. Sorry....

It is always a good idea to research corals before you buy them. I was terrbile with the 'impulse buy' and the 'too good to pass up'. I used to make those mistakes, and i killed a few corals because i didn't take the time to check them out.......

yeah, thoes non-photosynthetic gorgonians are some of the most difficult things to keep alive!

very nice coral. not hard to keep as everybody says. I have 2 gorgonian. yellow gorgonia and the blue berry. all you nmeed to do is to feed them. how? cyclo-eeze or coral vibrance. both of them work, but if you mix them is even better. i feed mine every night or every 2 nights. they don't grow very fast. but teh average growth is 1/4" per month. depending on the feeding.

Thanks Kenny,
Are you target feeding it with a turkey baster, or do you have to remove it from the tank to feed it? Can you provide more details on how you feed. How often can you get away with feeding it. I could proboly do 2 days, but there will be times that is not possible.

Also, I have 2 250W halides and have heard they need to be kept in low light to keep algae from growing on it. Do you agree?

Can anyone who has this coral comment the specifics on what and how they feed.

Thanks

I agree with kenny77 they are not that hard to keep but the must be feed or they will die. You have to target feed them with a turkey baster

Do you still have your blueberry? How is it doing?

I feed my yellow newly hatched brine shrimp 3-5 imes a week plus cyclopeeze and frozen rotifers. buuuut im not bragin cause ive only had it for 2 months. It grows like a weed though, can easily see new growth in a matter of days. Also if you neglect to feed, it WILL decline rapidly.
