how did you run the closed loops? are the pumps in the overflow? do they feed from the overflow water?

09/07/2005, 03:38 AM
Hi,
how did you run the closed loops? are the pumps in the overflow? do they feed from the overflow water?
The water falls into the overflow, goes to the sump, and then 2 Eheim 1262 pumps connected into 2 SCWDテつエs makes the water return to the main tanq. After the SCWDテつエs I just have those tubes and in the end the dispersors with the orange tips.
And thatテつエs it!

Your tank looks great and I love the rock work. Just a heads up to look out for. I had 2 Hippo tangs in a 165 and they were in there for over a year and all the sudden one started chasing the other and one disappeared. I ended up finding him in my over flow box and put him back in the tank and the other one just beet the heck out of him. I had to get rid of one of them because of this.

Hi delops,
Very nice tank - very natural looking. I noticed you mentioned you are using a sulfure reactor. What is this and what is it used for.
Also how do you like you stream rock? have you ever had a problem with debris getting sucked through the pump? just courious as I have 2 of them arriving sometime today.

I used a sulphur reactor early on the setup of the tank - it helps reducing nitrates in the system. After a few weeks I stop using it.

The stream rock itテつエs great because we can have the pump on the middle of the aquarium and they really look a like a Live Rock after a while. No probs with suction - the pump stays with the same components wether we use a Stream rock or not.

hi deff great rock work and awesome tank layout...
now i'll torture u with some questions:
- first what do u give to ur corls to eat? how often?
- how do u control ur xenia growing so much and covering all possible space like the left wall where it does look so good? how do u get it away from all the other rocks?
- there's a pic of a SCWD (hope to write it right), where did u buy it? if u bought it in the usa, how much was it for shipping? how long did it take? instead if u bought it in portugual will u be able to send one over to italy, sending u the money needed ...
thanks a lot and congrats again...

I feed the corals with Pohlツエs Coral Vitalizer (Zeovit) and some Amino from Salifert. Once in a while I put some mysis and recent born artemia.
I really donツエt control xenias - they just grow as they want. I just traget them where I want them to grow.
The SCWDツエs were bought here in Portugal. If you want I can by it for you but you can by one in Aquaristic - http://store.aquaristic.net/AQ8f9ff4a320de9c4b935b2b742253e69a/html_en/startshop.php?LANG=en&start=1&go=1&0.98677000+1068074632

Absolutely stunning tank!
What materials did you use to build the stand, canopy, and cabinets?

Hi,
What materials did you use to build the stand, canopy, and cabinets?
The materials are MDF and Inox on the stand.
