the lighting is to low for the clams,gigas is considered a lower light clam when you compare them to the other clams,but they still need intense lighting, and PC's wont provide that.as for feeding I would switch to a live Phyto, the phyto that you mentioned is dead and will just foul your tank,clams don't feed on zooplankton,it's to large,4 gigas and a derasa in a 90G! each one of those clams will out grow that tank on it own.how are you replacing CA,and how often?are you getting a large drop and then raising if fast?the Byssal tissue is on the bottom of the clam,what people call the foot.do you have any shrimp or crabs in the tank? can you post a few more pics?

looks like pinching mantle, what is that brown thing that is shooting out?

The brown stuff is algae that was on the glass of the tank, we did not want to disturb it with the mag-float right before taking the pic.
