mouth gone?!!?

i came home from a couple day trip, and a single blue mushroom that i've had for about four months and has grown emensely, has a hole 2-3x the size of it's mouth, where the mouth should be!
is it dying, dead, or is this another form of splitting?
it still extends and detracts during light cycle.
what should i do??

do you have a pic? I had a few yumas that did that and died afterwards, don't really know what caused it for sure

Just from experience, every shroom that had it's mouth open up to a gaping hole was quickly on it's way out. I hope someone else has had a more positive experience.

I was told this one is splitting by more then one person.
Dont know yet for sure.
Hopefully this is the case for yours and mine.

looks like it is dying. Has it been spitting out the brown stuff (zoo)?

I am happy to say that I now have 2 mushrooms from the one in the picture.

Old thread I know but I now have the same problem with a 6 month in my tank hairy shroom, the other two on the rock are doing fine. Just wanted to keep the thread going, I'll try to get some pics up soon
