Mazima accident-is it fatal?

I got home yesterday and found that one of my LR pieces fell down and the young maxima that was on sitting on top had also fallen and was stuck between the overflow and another piece of LR. It took a lot of maneuvering to get it out. I set it on the sand but since then it hasn't opened more than a cm or so. I just got it this week and it really hadn't started opening much. Is the fall likely to have damaged it? Is it fatal?:(

if all is well, they have not much problem opening up after at most a day- you may have tank issues or the clam was sick to begin with; they hate being moved, especially if their byssal gland was damaged- not knowing anything about your tank or the clam, i'd leave it for a day or so and see if it opens.
