You have to have it hosted somewhere online first.. Either in the photo gallery here or in something like www.photobucket.com Then you click the img link and paste the link to the picture...
Here is a "sticky" about it... http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=531326

neither, i just balanced about 4 little pieces and braced them to support themselves, and they sort of tie together and make an arch. all the weight is supported by the big rock on the lower left and they kind of fall on the rock on the right.

yodahart what kind of powerhead is that on the right side of the pic
YodaHart
09/06/2005, 08:39 PM
Yup, 3 clams. My lighting is a 175 watt Ushio 10K and 2 55watt PC actinics. For flow I have a Maxijet 900(I think), Seio 620, and a Mag 7 for the return.
The pump on the right is a SEIO 620. I wouldn't recommend buying one. They're pretty crappy.

When the power goes out they don't come back on. And I've had A LOT of trouble getting them restarted after I unplug it. This morning I woke up to find it stopped for no reason. I've only had this one for a few months. I've read a lot of other people with the same problems. Maybe its just the 620's.

09/07/2005, 05:32 PM
yeah, i was gonna get 150/175 MH but could find a way to afford it and get livestock so im going with the quad 96 watt and gonna get moonlights. What kind of lights are you running?
blacksh33p
09/07/2005, 06:03 PM
i got the 96 powerquad too, i think its perfect for a 10 to 15 gallon tank and its not to expensive. im only 17 and i have a small budget so this light was my best option. you really dont need the MH unless you wanna keep SPS. which i think is pointless in such a small tank.

Your right i need to change my profile :) its a 10g. I plan on putting about another 3lbs of rock. That is 12lbs now. I currently have no filtration and do 15% water changes a week, so far the WQ has been perfect. I plan on putting a ac500 on soon.

It is my 29 gallon. I have about 50lbs of LR in the tank, with CPR's Dual BacPac that has 2 skimmers on it, and CPR's 12" refuge where I have 2" of Mineral Mud and Cheateo in it. Here's a shot of my new open brain:

Thank you!
I love my little Trimma gobies and think they are perfect nano occupants as they do not swim much and are bright and colorful.
I just bought a 12 DX so they will soon have a nice bigger home!
I also found a rare white tiger goby,he is awesome !
The coral I belive you think is a yuma is a red blasto. This tank has been set up for six months, with only 13 wts of PC...I can't believe these corals stay so colorful and are actually growing with this much light.

Thanks guys. Yep, that's the return and overflow. Being in the center makes it easy to conceal. The purple seems to soften the effect of piping in the tank until it develops corraline (I actually "plant" zoanthids on it too)
Here's a photo of how the overflow and return go together in the bottom of the stand. The return is the flexible tubing.

Wow, that skimmer is huge. Is it DIY? How does the overflow work?
yardboy
09/20/2005, 10:12 PM
Skimmer is DIY, overflow from that runs into a refugium made from a 10 gallon. Center overflow from tank dumps into the corner of the sump. Skimmer does look big, but remember it's a nano, 19 gallons, 25 total system volume. Skimmer is about 26" high, but is a triple pass so no microbubbles.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/yardboy/Winnerofthenanobuildoff081905withGe.jpg
But the skimmer does make some yummy skimmate.

hey fish master, since ur tank is new, i'd like to throw out a suggestion... try re scaping ur rocks to not lean up against the side glasses... it gets to be a PAIN to clean the glass ... as those that have it agasint the glass like me will agree... just an idea... im about 2 algea scrapes away from redoin my rocks to either lean against only the back, or an arch in the middle like a couple tanks here...
diablobryan
09/22/2005, 06:28 PM
Okay, mine is brand new (just put the rock/sand in yesterday) so doesn't look at all nice compared to the others, but maybe in a few months after it's cycled it will be decent! Now if I could just keep the temp under 83 degrees I'd be happy! Any ideas for moving things or criticisms/etc would be great!

I have aimed for an aqua-scape that is dynamic yet majestic. Slightly inspired by Fuji-san (Mt. Fuji).
I hope you enjoy it.

mariusz621,
That is a very dramatic aqua-scape. All of the different, unpredictable angles really complement the angular nature of acros. Then it bends into the soft, rounded softies and zoos at the bottom. The rounded angles of the shrooms in the centre really pull it together.
Nice one, mate.
I hope that my facade ends up looking half as good at some stage.
Every picture here is inspiration. Thanks.

I have eagle eye zoa's, green star polyps and mushroom doing great. I don't know the volume of water, bout a pint. it's filtered by a aqualifter pump. Light is a desk lamp that's why it's so yellow.

Dosen't feeding them get expensive?
Hey Raquee that's expensive lunch isn't it.
- Wooden Nickle, The light is a plain alarm clock desk lamp 3" above the surface. The container is an old bubble filter. The filtration is an aqua-lifter pump like the ones found on cpr cs overflows. It basically works like an undergravel filter. It works with air line and has a miniture canister filter like addition before the pump that i can put carbon in. The only thing that I would change is to have the return line go into the display. Right now, that's what you see in the middle and it goes under the sand at the same place as the intake.
http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/84995Pico_Reef.jpg
i've got chaetomorpha algae in the back for filtration and this is a picture when it was first set up. You can see my blue leg crab on the right causing my zoanthids to close up. It's a pretty fun tank. I'll be adding a neon goby soon.

Nice UNIFEX!
Gotta love the small sps reefs! Are the T5's HO or regular output bulbs? You should look into getting zeovit so you can retain those great colors on the acros. Zeovit works on smaller tanks too, good luck!!!!

Yes, they are micro bubbles. I like them. Each to his own I guess. They come from a small skimmer and the other piece of equipment for filtration is a HOB filled with LR rubble. Both have additional air being pumped into them.

Nice job. So much colour.

Looking good. That acro should grow in nicely. Nicely coloured frags, too.

ANIFEX- Wow that tanks will look amazing in a year or two when things start to develop and the acros begin to grow out. Your pretty well equiped to have a nano SPS.
Good Luck

Man, you guys have done great! I started off w/some cool aquascaping, then 1 thing leads to the next, and now I have this solid rock wall against the back of the tank - I started off thinking I'd avoid that - and now I'm building against the sides - I SWORE I'd avoid that! I love too many critters...:spin2:

Hey Kris, you just need to get something growing on that badboy. How long is it? No, seriously, I'm not trying to be funny, but if it's at least 6" it would be a perfect spot for a head of frogspawn on top, as it would give you plenty of distance to keep the sweepers away from other things. Ok, I have a feeling this all came out sounding wrong, go ahead everyong...Do your worst!

My secret to keeping it clean is a regimen of not overfeeding, not overstocking, and using only RO water for changes and top-off. Thanks for the kind words.

WendyMc
10/10/2005, 03:22 PM
maybe if the tang STAYED the same size as that damsel...I've seen/heard/read too many horror stories about keeping juvinile tangs in nanos. It'd work temporarily, as long as you had a larger system to transfer your tang to, but honestly, why add that stress to you, the tang, & your systems? There are so many other great fish suitable for smaller tanks, & so many other herbivores to use.

Here's my 13.5 gallon home-made tank (15" x 14" x 15"):
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/Flusher/nano02b-big.jpg
This is a new set up (added the water and some live sand in Septemper 2005).
I'm using two 26W mini compact fluorescent lights, plus a 15W of the same type of bulb. The 15W will be swapped for one of these next week (if it shows up in the mail):
http://mops.ca/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/skus/li/LICL-54110.asp?L+scstore+twng4689ff5eb55e+1129448814
The two types of xenia I have were growing fine under two 15W bulbs in a 10 gallon until just the other day when I picked them up. I plan to keep only hardy, low-light corals (mostly softies).
For more details and photos (and if/when this image is deleted from photobucket), see my homepage. It would just be easier than rattling off all the other specs that I already have online... ;)

Uh, what's wrong? Seriously - now I'm all worried... ;)
It looks like the heater is touching the live rock, but it isn't. There was a cyano build up on top, but that's been removed. I also checked with Ebo; this heater can be fully submerged. It even has an auto shut-off above the water level indicator, in case the heater is not fully submerged (that's what I was told anyway - I never bothered to test it).
It's been running perfectly for over a month.

i think they were talking about the cyano on it... becasue i dont see anything wrong with it other than that
diverrk
10/18/2005, 05:07 PM
Ok the heater has a water level mark look closely, I thought it meant not to submerge below the line, guess I'm wrong since you asked Jebo. Sorry if I got you nervous :D

maybe he's doing good by submerging it lol i think i read somewhere that they where using electric current throught Re Bar to create a small amount of electric current in the water, they said they saw corals growing better then ever. Wish i could remember where i saw that at. Well nice tanks everyone.

Mmmmm Shock therapy !!!
For those who are concerned about his Ebo-Jager heater (now the Co. is just called "Jager"), the water line indicator is just there as a "cover their butt" measure. Jagers are fully submersible. I myself and many others have had Jagers before and submersed them w/o any problems. Don't sweat it. :D

Nice tank,
Is that a remora and a cpr aqua fuge? Do you have any additional equipment? Did the mh light come with the compacts or did you have to diy?
You used to have a really neat eclipse tank (I think) do you still have it? And what did you light that tank with?

Thanks,
All the contents of the 12g Eclipse went into the 15g. I used a 2x32w Retrofit PC unit on the Eclipse.
The PFO hanging pendant has the MH with the PC's built in.
Yes, that is a 12" Aquafuge, and AquaC Remora on the back. I also have a Aquaclear 30 that I run from time to time when carbon is needed.
