would it be possible to keep a clam under vho's? i have a icecap 660 with 2 50/50 and 2 atinics, and the tank is a 55. Would this be possible and if so where in the tank should i place the clam?

I've seen people keep Deresa and Squamosa under VHO. They were down on the sand bed. I personally like to keep Clams under MH, but I know people have had success with VHO.

I have a maxima, crocea, gigas and a derasa in my 55, maxima is over year, crocea almost 9 months, gigas 6 months and just added the derasa today. My set up is icecap 660, overriding 40W bulbs phillips 6500K from Home Depot, 3 of those and 1 uri 110W actinic. the 40W gets changed every 6 months.

Any recommendations on clams?? I have PC lights: 96watt 10,000k, 96watt actinics, and 4 LED moonlights.

The more color the better and hopefully something with a lower price tag.

I'm new to this so any info would be great.

Thanks!!

Tagging along. 440w VHO. 2xURI actintic, 1 50/50, 1 AquaSun on a 55gal. From what I gather a Deresa on the sandbed would work.

Had Derasas and Squamosas under VHO no problem in in 30L with 4 95 watts. Always had problems with brightly colored maximas and croceas until I switched tanks and lights to MH. But derasas would definitely work.

I only have 192 Watts of lighting.

What do u guys think?

Is it safe to put these clams high on rock so they're closer to the light??
