I have the nudis, lfs has melanarus in stock. Are these reliable? Can't find a radiant anywhere. Anyone have experience with the melanarus and are they likely to nuke my cleaner shrimp?

Wow. I did a search today and see I asked this 18mos ago and got no replies. My radiant was awesome when I finally found one.

Then, a month ago, for no apparent reason and with no warning, it died on me.

Can get a melanarus. Will they eat monti nudis reliably?

Just wanted to give an answer seeing as how no one responded a year ago. No answer except, you still have them after the radiant. Try the other and let us know.

NO -- the radiant was awesome.

After he went in, the death ended immediately. He gorged himself silly on the little devils. But I think he kept a small stash in reserve for a rainy day. Unfortunately he died.

Now, the patches on one digi that are eroding away may not be from monti nudis. Or they may. But I like to have a fish in the tank that is reliable to wipe them out if and when they arrive.

I think no SPS should be without a fish that will do that. But, as far as I know, only the radiant is reliable.

I dont' know about the melanarus, but anampses(new guinea wrasse) and pink headed pencil wrasses seem to eat them.

I have really good luck with a china wrasse and it leaves everyone alone. When I put a new coral in the tank he/she starts to investigate it. I need to do a real experiment in a quarantine tank with it. Ever since I introduced it I haven't seen a single nudi and all my prized montis are growing like crazy.
