I am new to the tridacnid clam, I inherited one from a friend who was dismantling his reef and he was just going to throw it away (sad, huh). It's a beautiful clam and by the reading I've done so far, I'm pretty sure it's a Maxima.
My question is simple:
1) Where do I place him on my reef??
I have a 60 gallon tank with 296 watts of PC lighting and 4 moonlight LED's. (Coralife setup, hope this is enough light)
I know the placement question is asked on this forum quite a bit, but I really didn't see much on the Maxima specifically. I've also read they don't mind a lot of current, is this true?? Also, any recommendations on feeding??? I was thinking Marine Snow might be good, but not sure.

I really hope I can keep this guy alive, he is absolutely beautiful and I have a feeling he will get me addicted to clams rather quickly. Any info. you folks could provide would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!

There are some who say they can keep Maximas under PC. I personally think they need MH, but put it up as high in the tank as possible. They like to attach to a rock anyway. I would say they don't like high flow. A steady medium flow would be okay.
