The thread below pointed out something funny. I did verify its validity, but why is it so?

If you get the Marine Depot newsletter, the Phoneix bulbs are on sale and that is the cheaper prices you are seeing, the sale price for the bulbs (notice the "A" code instead of the "MB" code).

Normally I think you are only able to get the sales through the newsletter, so I am not sure if this is an oversight. I am sure Marine Depot will straighten it out.

If you don't already get their newsletters, then I highly recommend signing up for them. I have not received any additional spam associated with my signing up many moons ago, aside from their newsletter every couple of weeks :).
