I just got the reefkeeper and I had a question about the placement of the temperature probe. Should I put it in the main tank or in the sump? If it goes in the main tank, is it better to put it towards the top, middle, or lower part of the tank? I have tried several different spots and it seems like I get very different results from each of them. Thanks for all the help!

I just have a digital temp with simple probe between the baffles in my sump. With a Mag 12 on a 90g I get pretty good flow through there for better representation.

I have mine in the oveflow. I have a Durso stand pipe so the water level never falls more than about 1 inch (23 inches total height). This way the temp probe is monitoring the 400gph flow temp. I would put it in a medium to high flow area no matter what so you get a good reading of the flowing water temp.

Mine is in the sump... Temperature shouldn't vary much (if at all) between the sump and the display. I placed my probe just below where the overflows enter my sump. It has worked fine for me

Yeah that is where I had mine originally, but I moved the RK up higher on the wall, and the temp probe is not long enough to reach to the sump, so I put it in the overflow instead.
