Do you run the out tube straight from the ozonizer to the intake on the skimmer?

Fishking, glad to see you got your ozonizer setup. Everything looks good on your setup. How do you like using the ozone? have you noticed any difference in your water clarity yet?

By using a 250 in series with the 500 I can go for at least 2 to 3 weeks before having to recharge the beads. I only use neoprene hose between the ozone unit and the skimmer and use the cheaper silicone tubing for the dryers since ozone don't pass through those hoses.

It is not only cheaper but easier to work with than the neoprene.

I am just wondering what beads do you put in your ozone reactor?

thanks

They are little blue beads that absorb moisture. Kinda like the stuff you find in a beef jerky bag. The air passes over them and the beads absorb any moisture in the air. After they are exausted they turn pink.

you actually don't need that much suction going through your ozonizer.

if you T it with a very large diameter hose, you will get VERY little draw through the ozonizer but you will be getting just as much ozone being pulled through per hour. (just less ozone per volume of air. which doesn't matter).

i used to need to recharge my dryer beads twice a week. now i can change it twice a month.

Here is a Link (http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detail/iid/2249/cid/3999) to a company that sells bulk desiccant beads.

They have a pic on the site as to what the beads look like when they are fully charged (Dark Blue) and when they need recharging (Pink).

They also sell the tubes for holding the beads as well.
