View Full Version : Clam and RBTA Will they get along?

My 1 month ofd RBTA has found a home right next to my Crocea clam. The clam has only part of its mantle, nearest to the RBTA, retracted. Rest of the mantle is fully expanded and appears OK. There does not seem to be any type of irritation on the retracted part of the mantle just pulled into the shell. Any ideas or opinions on if I should move the clam or just ride it out and see what happens?

IMO, move the clam. Your BTA packs a powerful sting, and a retracted mantle is never a good sign

I second that motion....move it!

I don't think clams can get stung by other corals, but if the anemone is touching the clam, it will close up on that end, best to move it so that the clam can open up untouched

Thank you everyone for the replys. I have moved the clam and so far both are happy and looking good.
