View Full Version : Good Photo Hosting Site?

any one know of a good, free site?

I don't care for imagestation, villagephotos though I do use them, but I would like to find a place that doesn't sell the pictures I post, just a database that will allow remote linking and hosting of pics... I don't need anything fancy... but it's got to be free!

thanks,

Matt (TVI)

Pbase.com
not free though.

yeah, pbase and smugmug are both good, but like you say... not free!

I signed up w/ photobucket and wasn't impressed when they tried to sneak in requests for solisitation (sp?) and making it look like part of the sign up process. I luckily realized what it was and clicked "no thanks" at the bottom, but didn't appreciate it...

still, once you get passed that, looks to be legit and allows for fairly signifigant (sp? man, my spelling's bad today) file sizes (500k)...

I tried that Photobucket and did not carre for it all, I then found
www.smugmug.com
Much better IMO you can upload an entire file at once and all around easier use.

i'm almost positive you can create publicly viewable albums at www.shutterfly.com as well (with no size or bandwidth restraints)

its a great place to get photos and photo books printed as well. :)

You can try pbase for free... and if you get more serious like I did, paying 20 bucks (or there about) per year is less than I pay for toothpaste. :D

reefbucket.com - no resizing of images. 7MB image limit - large bandwidth... TOTALLY free. No solicitations.

Just a bare bones image host... love it.

http://www.fotopic.net/
Large [250mb] storage limit, small [unobtrusive] advertising for the free galleries, and generous software options, especially for the 2 paid account options.

I just use the yahoo geocities webpage feature to upload pics. I think it has a 4.3 megabyte limit per day. It is enough to work for me.

I spent some time on fotopic.net setting up a few galleries and going thru all the features- and wow is all I can say. They really give you a lot to work with- they get a lot of kudos from me.

I know it is not free but
http://www.ace-host.net/
Is a web hosting site. 3.95 A month if you pay in advance.

Disk Space----- 5,000 MB
Monthly Bandwidth ----- 100 GB
MySQL Databases Unlimited
eMail Accounts Unlimited
FTP Accounts Unlimited
Sub-Domains Unlimited
Static IP Included

You can link to it without a domain name just use the static ip.

Plus you can use this to store whatever you want.

Also here is a very ez to use picture gallery
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/en/index.htm

Once you get it setup all you do is dump your pictures in a dir and the website will do the rest.

And it is free.

If you need anymore info on either let me know I will do my best.

I have not had much time to work on mine but here is both of them put together. (I set the web page up in less then 1 hour)

Photobucket web site is not working, although I can open it from my cell phone's app (strange). I want to post pics, google doesn't work (strange too).

Anyone have another photobucket like app and website I can use?

Never mind, found snapfish... thanks

Y'all need to try imgur. By far the best photo hosting page!

Google used to work....now it doesn't provide the image link address right..what am I missing here? And I can't use it from Tapatalk either.

I noticed that too. Even the old picasa gallery link doesn't provide good links anymore.
