My maxima is about 4" looks healthy with good color and all and has grown a good inch since I got it about 7 months ago. Sometimes it retracts is mantle quickly and looks like it is coughing. It retracts ust like when you pass your hand under the light above the clam only it does it on its own. No fish swimming near by or anything that would prompt it to do that. I have assumed that this is normal but I havent really seen too many maximas in LFS's aroudn here or others peoples tanks, to compare and I was wondering if this is normal and do your maxima clams do the same.
