I have a 2.5in nonphotosynthetic clam that came on a piece of live rock. In my 25 gallon is this consuming alot of calcium in my system? My only other calcium users are a Wellsopylia, and asst softies.

I know that when I had my 15 gallon going, and then put in a 6 inch crocea, the alk consumption of the tank jumped another 2 to 3 dkH a day (from 11-9 to 11-7/6)! Assuming balanced Alk/Ca..thats a whole lot () : )

Now that I have 4 clams and some acros in a 30g I havent really put my finger on my consumption rate...but I know that I burn through B-ionic like it was top-off water () : )

cheers,

Clams (and frags too) consume a shocking about of CA/ALK. On my old 15 I had to use 5 times the reccomended max. daily amount of B-Ionic just to keep it steady. Then Ibroke down and got a reactor! :)
