I went to feed my mantis this morning and realized he was acting weird and upon a closer look I saw that he has molted. This is the first time he has molted since I have had him and i was wondering if there was anything I need to do to make sure he has a good molt. He still has his old "skin" with him, should i take it out? Will he now be in hiding for the next few days? Anyways, he seems to be doing good so far and I just want to make sure that he continues to do so. Thanks for any help.

keep the old shell in there, he or she will eat it within the next couple days, It is a good source of calcium among other things im sure. Infact, my peacock molted about a week ago, after about 5 days I saw that she had stashed her old raptorial appendage for a late night snack!

Mine takes about 8-10 days to molt. Just leave it alone and let it do its own thing.
