It's the first day of winter. The shortest day of the year and nothing on the tube, so I shot some pictures to share.

Wow, really nice and sharp. I like. How do you find the camera does with color balancing? Methinks Kodak digicams don't have a custom WB setting, no?

Very nice, I have the Canon Digital Rebel SLR and I still can't take pictures of my take that good. LOL, I've had the thing for 3 years now.

Greg, The only white balance settings it has are auto, Daylight, which is the one I use ,tungsten, and fluorescent. After I see the pictures I usually adjust the exposure from the easy share software that came with the camera. They are usually too bright for my likeing. Thank you for the response . What else should I be doing to improve the pictures?

Well, if they're too bright, it's probably overexposed. Try adding -0.5 EV using the camera before taking the pic, instead of correcting it after - that way you won't have so many blown highlights (white areas containing no details).

How can you possibly get pics like that with the kodak? I have the same camera and cant even come close to matching those. Please help. :)

David, Use your camera in PASM Mode then go to your menu and select white balance--Daylight
ISO---100
Color Mode ---saturated color
Exposure Metering-- Center Weight.
Focus zone---Center Zone

Then in macro mode place the camera lens right in front of the subject, right up against the glass.
Press your button down halfway to focus, once you get the green light finish pressing the button to take the picture.
This is how I do it.
Not every picture comes out the way you want it. I still only get one out of fifteen that I like.
Hope this helps you, let me know.
Brad
