I just installed my wavebox in my 240 tall reef, i'm not seeing very much wave activity yet. The dim. of my tank are: 72L x 30H x 24W...is one wavebox not enough to get the wave motion? I'm also running 2 6100's with the wavebox, I have more turbulant flow than wave motion. Is there anything to try without buying the extension? (2 6100's and a wavebox set me back a bit!!!)

Thanks,
Rich

No, you just don't have the right tuning yet, until you hit the correct frequency really nothing happens. You have to be patient and slowly turn the knob, it can take a few hours to get it right. You have it right when you get one continuos wave with a crest on one side and trough on the other.

I have the same sized tank and one 6100 (well once I get it back :)) and I have the dial just a little to the left of "12 o'clock". It's different on every tank based on your rock, sand, etc... but maybe that can get you in the ball park. I get a really good sized wave on my tank so you really don't need the extension. Why not turn the 6100's off if they are causing too much turbulence and then get the wavebox set right, then turn them back on?

I did notice better wave movement when the pulse was lower, I have it dialed to about 3 o'clock now. I'll turn it back and start over with 6100's off...thanks for the help guys.

Well it seems that the shorter pulses make better waves. I have about an 1" to 1-1/2" break at the surface, now i'm slowly turning up the flow on the 6100's to get a little more turbulence.

Yes, it should create one wave, if the water is just randomly bouncing around it isn't properly set up.
