In talking with Treg, he stated that you told him about the following :

A cable that goes from USB to CAT5 to USB that you could run up to a 150' length between the controller and your PC....

Do you have more info on this, Is it a Aquatronica Accessory or 3rd Party ??

Price ??

Shawn,

Thanks for the question. It is a 3rd party item and I plan to add it on the site now. Do you have the need for something like this? I thought it might be beneficial to some Aquatronica users.

Has it been used with an Aquatronica and it works ?? I am pretty sure other RC members have tried to use 3rd Party items like this before and they have not worked...

If it works with no issues I would be very interested in it, as I am sure other RC members who also use an Aquatronica controller...

According to the manufacturer it should work but I'm not taking their word for it. The product is currently in transit and I just wanted to post it on the site since you asked about it. I don't recommend buying it until we have an opportunity to test it.

why not a powered USB extender? Isn't the length limitation in usb/cat5 due to DC current/voltage drop over distance? Hence the invention of AC and why it's used everywhere right to the outlet. just my 2c. hth

On your question. The USB repeaters that I am familiar with will only transmit data safely up to 80'. There may be some other technology out there that would allow you to go beyond 80' with USB or 150' with CAT/USB but I'm not familiar with it.
