I was thinking it would be a superb idea if those of us that have these delightful instruments (PAR meters) could create a database of corals/light requirements.
Since owning a PAR meter by understanding of lighting has gone through an awakening! I think it might be great if we could contribute to this database with info such as:
species;
colour (ooops sorry color);
PAR level kept under; (for say more than 3 months)
and data could be provided through a web site such as:
Pulsing Xenia
Minimum PAR kept under: 50
etc etc etc
It might hpersuade more people to buy PAR meters and therefore remove the current guess work and misinformation there is about the light requirements of corals. Hopefully somebody will have the foresight to make a cheaper meter as they become popular?
Cheers
Andy
ps. I'm buying shares in Apogee in anticipation. ;-)
