Anybody with LPS under 10K 250 HQI?

I am trying to get better growth on my sps coral in my 58 gallon. I am currently using a XM 20K my LPS are great but my sps are not growing well. If I switch to a 10K am I going to fry my LPS? I have frogspawns, torches, open brain, maze brain, and candy canes. If this will work... how should I acclimate my tank?

i have 2-250w se 10k's over all my lps. its not hqi but pretty close. all of my corals do well under it but judging by thier colors i would guess that much more light would cause them to start loosing color or bleaching. but the 250 10k's seem to be maximum light with no ill effects on the corals.
to acclimate ive heard the best route would be to move back your lighting schedule a few hours. like go from 9 hours to a 6 and a half hour schedule then every few days start increasing it more in half hour incremients.
or you could keep the the same amount of time and raise the lights up another foot. and keep the same schedule but instead of increasing time every few days lower the lights an inch or two every few days.

btw you will want actinic supplimentation. 10k is not a very attractive color and its real similiar to a flashlights color. just one more thing to consider in switching to 10k(but youll love the growth)

Thanks for the reply. I am already supplimenting with attinic VHO's. So hopefully this will color up the tank.

I run 250w 10k's with icecap ballasts and I had to move my open brain into the shade since it was bleaching.I got a 24" tall tank with the lights about 8"-9" from the top of the water.I also acclimated my Torch using the Screen method and it worked great,I should have done that with my 4 headed frogspawn that died:(

I have 2 x250 de 14k phx which have a very high par and they are run off magnetics. All my lps do great.

My lps are under a 250 de with a 10k xm bulb. The frogspawn has gone on a growth spurt since I put this new light on.
