i have a 40gal tank i just set up and have a 65w PC with a 10,000k and an acentic...i still have the crappy 15w 4200k light that came with the tank, and both hoods will fit over the tank...should i use it? it does make things 'brighter' in there...but not sure if it will help my tank at all (or even hurt things?) i plan on fish and some coral...actually not sure what kind of corals i could do (advise please). thanks in advance.

or...should i replace the 4200 with another bulb? it can take up to a 19w bulb....thanks.

I think that shag26272 may have been confused when you typed 4200K, I think you typed an extra "0" in there. Is it a blueish light? If so, you did type an extra "0". IF the buib is truely 4200K it will be way yellow, you most likely wouldn't like it.

HuH? did you mean he meant to put 42000k?

i think its some kind of freshwater NO bulb probabally

I was thinking that he meant a 420nm bulb. Actinic if you will.
