okay, i got a qeustion , i'm trying to win an arguement with the former owner of this LFS i work at.
lets put all the feelings aside about putting damsels in a tank to cycle it..... ...let say if you WERE to put damsels in a new tank, who thinks that its safe, 48 hours after adding LIVESAND to the new tank, that it would (ok) to add damsels???
i say its not safe, you need to wait about 4 to 6 weeks.
please someone correct me if i'm wrong

Many people add them for the cycle. No its not good for the fish but many people do it anyway.

I don't either since the liverock that they put in their tank is enough to kick off the cycle.

Funny, we don't want to use them for a cycle 'cause it might hurt but we'll pretty much use explosives to get them out of our tanks when they become a pain in the keister.

I agree with everyone so far.

It's not safe for the fish (even if they are not our favorite fish).

Live rock is more than enough to cycle the tank.

It takes four to six weeks if everything is new for the cycle to complete.

Damsels are a pain, well most of them anyway.

How about using the old owner to cycle tank :D
