The canycane coral in this link is similar to the one I have in my tank.

Also, would this color of candycane be considered rare?
Who else has this kind of coral? Let's see some pics!

really? wow ok I guess I was just lucky.
New Alameda has one right now, though I think it was sold. I saw some at All About Fish in Pleasant Hill as well. Some online places sold them too.
I didn't really like the color too much, made me think "nuclear waste" when I saw it =/

It's very pretty.. Not all are the same as the Alantis one. I saw it in person and that thing is "very" neon green.. The best looking candy cane if you ask me :D ..
Do these count

:eek1: Very nice colony .. :bum:
How long did you have it?
I've had them for 4 months with very good growth. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the top one is purely green and the bottom one has a yellow tint to it; each is very unique and beautiful in its own way.

That's a great looking colony. That colony looks very similar to my colony. I'll post it up soon.

3 years ago this particular morph was incredibly hard to find in the hobby. Now, it's usually available, at about 10 or 15 dollars more than 'regular' candycanes.

Nice candy canes!
Several years ago, I received a fedex box overnight from one of the major online livestock dealers. I had not ordered anything from them in months. To my suprise, it is a small colony of these very same candy canes! only 4 or 5 small heads. I immediately called them, as i knew it was a mistake. They confirmed it was, but said i could keep the coral instead of returning it, at no charge! I don't know why it was sent to me in the first place!
It has become one of my favorites. At least 15 heads now, and big beautiful ployps. I love these corals!

If you look at the surrounding areas of the photo in the original link, it looks as though actinics are on.

Tropicorium's been propping one like that for a couple of years, I'm pretty certain it's no longer a 'rariety'.

I live in Fremont where Atlantis is located. I can assure you, that coral is actually that color in person under regular lighting. It's brightest candy cane I've ever seen.

i have the same kind but my tank went down hill and it almost died..now its slowly comming back to life..but the heads some times seems like its gonna blow off the stalks in the current...what will happen if they do ( i moved it to like a no flow area last night)

I just got a couple of these heads from Atlantis this week. I have seen plenty of green candycanes, but nothing like this. It's freeking incredibly bright! Looks like it has a light on inside it. Makes my green slimer look grey.
Maybe other people have the same morph for cheaper, but its far from a typical green candycane. In a year when its a big colony I really won't care about the extra $ it might have cost.

I got 2 heads for $10. I now have 4 heads in just 2-3 months and looks like they are getting ready to split again.
$60 for 2 heads...STEEP!!!

I think if you turn on just the actinics then the green color really pops. But even under "standard" lighting these green candycanes are my favorite when it comes to candies.
