Hi everyone

I am a newbie in reef.

i bought two pieces of corals a few days ago.
but i have no idea what they are, i've never seen it before.
all i know is that they are hard coral.
Are they by any chance Favia ???????

OMG how do you score two nice pieces like that without knowing what they are????? Most people only dream of getting an acan that big.

i paid 40$ CAD each for them.

the LFS told me that they don't get them very often so i got them.

they've said that the second one is called acan, so i did a little bit of research here but according to http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-08/ebac/index.php

the corallites are very random, some are 8 - 15mm and some are less then 8 mm so that's why i came up with the thought of favia/faviats.

as of the the first pic, i really have no idea what it is
