I remember recently someone had a large bristleworm that they had caught. If it is still around I would be interested in it. Also any other unwanted invertebrates. I am a Zoology major at OU and I am currently enrolled in Invertebrate Biology, which has a collection that has to be put together. I would deeply appreciate any unwanted inverts.
TIA

I just relocated a stone crab two days ago. I don't think I can find him now. Too many places to hide in the front yard : )

Well, I have a Thin Stripped hermit you can have. I was the one who caught the big bristleworm. He met a toiletry demise, sorry. I will try to catch others if you like. I also have some Aiptasia if you want I can cut a piece off. :)

Hey Indo! You're going to receive a PM from me in the future. I'm interested into going to OSU for zoology in the future and could use some pointers from someone going through it now.

MyMonkey that would be great, the hermit will work well and if you can catch another giant bristleworm that would be awesome.
TIA

Anytime, if I can help Travis.

indoreefer, if you want some inverts i have some science teacher catalogs, and there are online catalogs for science teachers that have common inverts for pretty good prices.

Sorry to go off topic but why would anyone not want bristleworms in their tanks?

I don't mind small bristleworms. But from what I understand they are not harmful. I have had more problems with crabs them bristleworms. If you go to www.ipsf.com they are actually selling them and say they benefit the tank.

I believe that bristleworms are good detrivores.

UPdate. Well, I returned from a few days in Tulsa at a conference. The hermit either molted and is hiding or has died. Darnet. That was the last of 4 I had. I will keep an eye out for him.

Anyone run across a really large bristleworm that they would want to get rid of?

I have bristleworms, but none are very large, and I have no idea how to catch them. I am about to eradicate a very aggresive emerald crab if you want it.

Sorry INdo. I have not caught anymore large worms. My hermit seems to have passed on as well. I will keep an eye out for anything creepy crawly.

Sadsak, how big of worms are you talking about! Just curious! I still have those macs if you are still wanting them.

Have you checked the OMAS forum. If you can find someone there that is willing to help, I don't mind transporting them. I know that jjmcat has a pretty large bristleworm. You'ld have to ask him how big it is.

I have a large bristleworm I would gladly give you, but I can't catch the guy. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I need him gone.

what about flatworms and asterna starfish?

indoreefer
03/03/2006, 10:55 AM
Dustin,
Yes the flatworms and starfish would work! The flatworms would have to captured without squishing them. LOL

D.G.
On the large flatworm. I would recommend a clean used coke bottle submerged on its side with something that they might want to eat. Once they are inside, just pick the bottle up.

Thanks Guys

I meant large bristleworm, not flatworm.

All unwanted inverts are apreciated.
