What is the best diy wet/dry filter that could be used to filter 4 to 6 ten gallon broodstock setup. how big?, bio balls? mechanical filtration? I would like to make mine out of a old 29 gal high and i just need a mor detailed description. thank you so much.

if anyone has any pic of there own filtration setups please post them.

I prefere bio wheels or things that function like them , part in the water part out, I prefere to use ones that spin in reverse to the water movement which requires either water jets to spin the wheel or a motor, I prefere the water jets.

they are also very easy to build and easy to expand just cut some open cell foam into circles poke a hole in the middle and mount onto a pvc pipe and you have the wheel, put that in a larger piece of pvc (1/2" for axle and 1" for hub works nicely) and have at it.

rsman- do you make "paddles" or is it many circles of foam that make up the wheel?

ive done both, my last was kinda paddles (4 anyways) but for ease of building using foam to make the wheel is soooo much easier.
