I just purchased a locally owned, used Hamilton 250Wx2 MH, 110Wx2 VHO with Magnetic Ballasts (used for 9 months, $300...maybe paid too much?). The pendant has one fan only (it was noisy, but I cleaned it well and sounds better now). The seller said he "researched it online" and learned that "with two fans [one at each end] they 'fight' it out... so you are better with one." I'm setting my tank up in a cool basement, and let it run most of the day yesterday... it didn't seem too hot. Any thoughts???? It's noisy enough with just one fan.
