Ok.. My yellow tang over the past 3-4 months has started to lose his fins.. they are withering away..
Please help
Is he going to be ok.
Please help.

Post your water parameters: ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Then do a large water change. Possible causes are fin burn (high ammonia), or fin rot brought on by physical damage (most often aggression from other fish). Hard to say without more information - the more the better. Also, post a picture if you can.

Could be a Bacterial infection , does he have any red blotches? I could also be MHLLE...Does the fish have pits or scratches around his face?

ok... I think I will test the water.. however the link that BTTRFLY GRL posted did show another tang that looked like mine.. My tang has gotten vary skinny and has started to lose some of his color, fading away. Maybe it is HLLE.
So what is HLLE?
