As one of several new moderators recently added at Reef Central, Jonathan Bertoni (screen name Bertoni) will be sharing some of the moderating duties in the chemistry forum (as well as some other, obviously less important forums :D ).

He's been helping out here a lot in the past, especially when I've been away, and will now have more power as well! So his wish is now your command. :D

He'll be helping answer questions, doing administrative moderating as necessary (like moving threads around if needed), and especially assisting when I'm away for a day or more.

So lets give him a big reef chemistry welcome!

Welcome Bertoni. Congrats. When I grow up, I want to be just like you :D

Now Randy will have more time to work on that ozone project.

I started actually injecting ozone a few days ago. :)

If you dont mind me asking, what was your orp before starting and how much has it gone up in 3 days? How many mg/hr do you have it set at ?:)

It was in the upper 200's to low 300's before starting (depending on pH/time of day and whether my skimmer was recently cleaned).

The ORP has risen about 20 mV per day. I have about 300 gallons or so of water, and am using a 100 mg/hr unit flat out without a dryer (the dryer put too much pressure loss n the air for the air pump I have).

Thats great. I am looking forward to your article as I've been dabbling with ozone for about 4 month now. I have heard that running the unit without a drier can decrease ozone output by about 50% depending how moist the inlet air is. My tank never seems to get over 340mv. I'm sure there are many reasons for that. I did notice when I bought a bigger air pump and hooked up the drier my orp rose higher then without. Good luck with your project. :)

We'll try to judge him by quality over quantity. :D

Hey, no fair, I was putting my bets on quantity!
