I am going to buy a test kit for alkalinity and another one for phosphates and I was wondering is anyone has had good or bad experiences with any specific brand of test kits.

I see Salifert and SeaTest recommended often

For things like calcium, phosphate, PH, ect. . The really important things you don't test for as often. I've heard salifert as they are extremely accurate compared to other brands.

And for nitrates, and things you might test more often, I've heard "fastest" is a good one. They are reccomended over the common store bought "aquarium pharmacuticals" atleast.

Salifert is what I use and trust most often. Except for pH. I must prefer and trust a pH probe for that.
