I've had a Fromia sea star in my tank for about three weeks now. It's been fairly active and up until last nigth has seemed to be healthy. The tip of one of its arms is sloughing it's skin. I've read about bacterial infection causing necrosos, but the area does not look necrotic (but, then again, what do I know?). If the arm is dying, will it just fall off and the sea star grow a new one or do these things typically spred until the whole sea star dies? Water parameters are within normal limits and have been consistent. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

These 2 pages should help:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/fromiastarfaqs.htm
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/seastars.htm
There's a lot of good information on wetwebmedia to be found.

The previous post "ID this starfish" is also about Fromia.
