Explosion of snails!

Well I must of had some snails lay eggs and they hatched because I now have about 100 or 150 baby snails of all sizes in my tank. How bad is this? Should I just let them die off naturally or should I pluck them out?? Does anyone want baby snails :) Just curious as what steps I should take... anyone have any experience in this?

What type of snails are they? I had the same thing happen in my nano, and wasn't sure if I should be concerned. Did they look like this?

yuppers... looks like the same ones... sorry i know I should have posted a pic but it's late and I don't want to dig the camera out.. but they seem like they only come out late at night and early in the morning

That's the same thing with mine. When the lights goes out, they come out. I don't remember seeing them, then one day, I saw hundreds (ok, maybe only a hundred) of them in my 12 G nano. According to this thread http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=757144 , they are reefsafe.

oh yeah I knew they were reef safe, I'm just curious about the number of them in there... how bad will 100 snails throw off the chemistry?

I would be happy to take any off your hands. I do not think that they will cause you trouble. I would imagine they are pretty small. Do you have any hermit crabs?

sure I got tons if you want any! they are about the size of a BB or a Pellet.. and yes I have a lot of hermit crabs! and they don't seem to bother them too much., I do find and empty snail shell from time to time but nothing major

You should bring a bunch to the next meeting, I'm sure everyone will take some! I could use some, that's for sure.
