Guys,

I wonder if someone would be able to point me in the right direction with this. I've had this strange looking algea growing in my tank for about 1.5 months now. It looks like string and seems to grow more rapidly when my sump gets low and sucks air.

I've tried low lighting, no lighting, new lighting, phosban, but nothing will get rid of this stuff.

I know my description isn't the best, but, that's all i have.

As for the water params, they are as follows:

Nitrate=0
Amonia=0
Nitrite=0
Phospate=0
Calcium=LOW
Mangesium=REALLY LOW

Can you describe the algae a little better, color, length of strings, patches, etc. Better yet, can you get a picture of the stuff. If you don't have a camera, look thru the gallery, you might get lucky and find a picture.

sg1.025, the link isn't working for me. Be sure that it works outside of your network, not just within it.

Hoo boy talk about dial up beware! :) Took awhile even on high speed. The pics are reminiscent of dinoflagellates.
