Does anyone have any experience with setting up a tank on laminate flooring, or one with radiant heat? I have a 90 gallon tank that I would like to set up in my new house. I am a bit concerned about the large amount of weight on the flooring. My builder said it would be fine but I am not sure he understands how much a 90 gallon tank weighs. The tank would be set up on the ground floor, which on a concrete slab.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Concrete slabs are pretty strong. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about it, especially if the builder has okayed it. You could go over the total tank weight with him, if you're still worried.

I might not know much about salt water tanks but we just built our house. The radiant floor part shouldn't be a problem and laminet flooring is tough stuff. Think about the weight of a waterbed! :)

The tank with water will weigh about 1050 lbs. That does not include any sumps, live rock etc.
